Multiplication Tiles with Charts 1 and 3



Method:
1. Child takes out a tile of an equation and writes it down in his book. For example, 2x5
2. Using chart 3, he places his finger on 2 in the vertical blue column and 5 on the red horizontal column.
3. He moves his fingers till they both meet.
4. He writes down the answer to the equation.
5. Child checks his answers using chart 1.

Extension

1. Instead of using the equations first, child picks up a product.
2. Write down the product in book.
3. Using chart 3, circle all the same product with a marker/pencil.
4. Working from product, child moves fingers to find sets of multiplicands and multipliers.
5. Child writes different sets of equations into book.
