Alphabet Cards

My first five alphabet cards for Sarah. Somehow I ended up with animals for all of them. I plan to use colour paper, stickers, sparkles or colour them with paint or crayon. At the back I'll write a
short story about the characters.

I used to draw such pictures on the blackboard to teach Umayr letters but he was already around five then and was able to copy the pictures himself. The present cards will, I hope, be more suitable for three-year old Sarah to learn her alphabets.

When I taught Umayr, I would tell a tale as I draw. I believe it is a Waldorf- influenced practice, although there they don't learn reading till first grade. I believe I wrote about Umayr's road to reading a few years back here.
