Monday mania
I always have a panic attack on Monday, waking up with an aching body and a terrible headache coming on from the realisation that's it's the start of another school week.Arrgghhh!I'm not prepared.
At this point, I'm trying to make a long term plan that I will stick to.It has not been easy and I have not been making my Montessori materials as planned.I'm trying, really. There are weekly plans and so far, I'd say we do 70% of the things.
Today, the boys decided they wanted to wipe the furniture or anything I okayed with their spray cleaner and cloths. I've been letting them do so since I bought an organic cleaning fluid recently. They absolutely love spraying and wiping so much, I have less dust in the house now.
With them cleaning, I managed to settle things down a bit and prepared for what I have planned that day. When they were done, we had storytelling as usual then I thought them a train song as we are having a " Trains" theme for the next three weeks or so. We then pretended to ride a train, actually a column of numbered chairs where the children have to sit depending on what number they had on their 'tickets'.
When they agreed to have craft, we decorated ice-cream sticks with sparkling glue with which we later made train tracks.I was surprised they almost finished the whole box of sticks that we had. Oh well, time for the shops again.
They then coloured Thomas and Friends colouring pages and we proceeded to read about Thomas and his friends on the net. There were also some fun games that the kids totally enjoyed there.
Things went better that expected, and before I realised it, three hours have passed and the kids had their TV time after completing their handwriting exercise.Alhamdulillah, if only all days were this easy.
Now time for solat and Islamic knowledge. Oh Allah please make me able to do my duties well....Amin.
