Spring Cleaning
We didn't have school today. After storytelling, the kids had breakfast and started playing shop soon after and they seemed so into it, that I didn't want to pull them out of the moment. Sofiyya was at her clinic, Ihsan was selling toys and Umayr was the grocer.
I started clearing the study, which I intended to turn into the schoolroom. The study was smaller than the other rooms but it fitted most of my materials nicely, although just my kids and I can fit in there during lessons. Previously, the study had also been my brother's temporary room till my parents' got their new place, Sofiyya's room, the solat room and the dumping room. I do not know how long it'll be the schoolroom. I find that the children are not interested in looking at the materials that they see every day anymore and wanted to give it a new life by putting it together in a nice cosy room.
After Zuhr, we went to IMM where we got some tiny cacti for tomorrow's lesson. Umayr bought a Boston Fern, I don't really know what kind of plant it is but he was using money he got from his brother who in a moment of gratitude had given it to him and was enjoying having purchasing power of his own. If children themselves love having this power, is it then a nature of Man or are they merely trying to emulate adults?
Going home, I put the plants at the boot of the taxi to which Umayr questioned why since a moving taxi might overturn his plant and splatter the soil all over. Fortunately it didn't happen, and I will insyaAllah think twice when I put things in the boot next time.
