The Large Hadron Collider

Don't ask me what exactly the LHC is about, for that you can read here. The older children went through the exhibition at Marina Bay Sands' ArtScience Museum with their friends who came along but I have yet to ask if they understood anything.

For Sarah, I tried to take an impressionistic approach about the life of a scientists in the project as the exhibit was set up to look like parts of the site where the experiment takes place.

Sarah enjoyed pretending to talk over the tunnel phone and dressing up with a helmet and luminous vest. She learned why they needed to dress up like that in the tunnel and what are the other safety measures that need to be taken like lit up signs to tell staff when the beam is on.

Unfortunately for us, as kids go in for free on Friday, the activity centers were full and Sarah did not get to do them.

She skipped over to the Nobel Prize winners exhibition and enjoyed playing with the tablet that featured the awards' winners. We learned about how the tablet could try to make out the scribbles she made into words.

Sofiyya managed to identify Malala and Sarah was excited when she found Tawakkol Karman.

We then made our way to an exhibition on The Art of Leather by Hermes- something I can understand. The kids managed to experience various types and colours of leather and different items Hermes produces with them.

The girls got to ride on horseriding simulator and race with each other. They of course got to see the bags and horseriding equipment the company makes. Sofiyya brought up the idea of taking up horse riding again. Sigh, sorry dear, that's only for high society here.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I was quite tired out. However, mummy still managed to gather some strength for a mummies' gathering and the girls had a fancy dinner with their papa.
